I looked at several point and shoot cameras before I decided to buy the Canon PowerShot SD780IS and is at the top of my list. The Canon sd780is has been one of the best compact digital cameras I have owned so far. One of the main features I like is the Optical Image Stabilizer Technology that automatically detects and corrects camera shake--one of the leading causes of fuzzy or blurred shots. Even when I zoom in very close, I get steady, sharp and superb images.
I always take this camera with me everywhere I go so I can take shots of people in a natural state or emotion. I take videos of my daughter and they are comparable to my Sony HDR-CX110 Camcorder. This little camera has really proven to be the one of the best compact digital cameras I have owned.

SD780IS - highly recommended!
This is my fourth Canon PowerShot compact digital camera. I take my camera everywhere on trips, and usually throw it in my pocket...and they have all lasted longer than they should have. Reliable picture quality. Plenty of custom settings. I love it...was worried about the smaller 2.5" display (last Canon had 3" display), but barely notice the difference. I love the HD video capturing ability, nice small and compact design...

Compact and feature rich,
I wanted to get a point-and-shoot for my wife and I knew it had to be something small that she wouldn't mind carrying in her jacket/jeans pocket or handbag. Also I wanted this camera to complement my dslr, in terms of compactness and features. I'm happy to say the SD780IS does the job excellently. Its unbelievably sleek, making it as portable as a cellphone. And its got a ton of shooting modes - in my most recent vacation I could absolutely find a shooting mode for every scenario I was in. Love it!....
